DAP Wall Repair Editorial Review
This joint compound product is good for novice users who are new to working with mud. It can be used for skim coating and filling in voids left from paint that peeled off towards drywall. However, it is not suitable for attaching new drywall to fix a 10 inch x10 inch hole because it is not the easiest to work with. On the plus side, it is easy to work with and can be thinned out with water for taping. The texture of the product remains good even if the lid is not closed tightly, and the leftover product can be stored inside the house or basement. Although the dry time can take longer than expected, using a damp sponge to smooth the surface will provide better results. Be advised that the product has a very foul odor and may create a mess if the container is not handled carefully.
